Guests are picked up in Windhoek (or Swakopmund) by a minibus and taken to their lodge via Spreetshoogte Pass with its magnificent views. The lodge's professional tour guides accompany guests on a 4x4 excursion to Sossusvlei and explain the wonders of nature, big and small. Climb to the top of the highest dunes on earth and enjoy a picnic under big old camel thorn trees.
This tour package is available with 2 different budget options - 'Affordable' & 'Up-market' - 'Affordable' is very comfortable accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis and 'Up-market' is a more luxury / has a few more amnetities and is on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.
Both accommodation options have en-suite bathrooms.

Day 1 Sesriem / Sossusvlei 280km
Departing Windhoek or Swakopmund, we travel into the Namib Desert with its monumental dunes and ever-changing colours. This is the oldest and driest desert on earth; nevertheless it supports a vast diversity of adapted fauna and flora that accentuate this pristine environment even further. (Recommended optional excursion on the affordable tour: a petrified dune drive followed by a sundowner on one of the dunes).

Up-market package: Sossusvlei Lodge (D) - there is an on-site activity centre offering a wide selection of activities and excursions such as nature walk, quad biking, scenic flights, helicopter flights, hot air ballooning, archery, star gazing, sundowner drives and nature drives.
Day 2 Sesriem / Sossusvlei
The best time to experience the Sossusvlei area is at sunrise when the new light paints the dunes and desert plains into a variety of deep reds, apricot and purple.
Experience the majestic yet tranquil Sossusvlei or the surreal Dead Vlei on foot. We enjoy a picnic brunch under the camelthorn trees, before travelling back to our lodge via the gaping Sesriem Canyon.
