Madikwe Safari Lodge:
Set on a gentle slope nestled between two rolling hills, Madikwe Safari Lodge overlooks game-filled plains with the Dwarsberg Hills in the distance and the Marico River nearby. Madikwe Game Reserve is run as a joint venture between the North West Parks Board, the private sector and the local communities. The rich red timbres of the African earth are reflected in the warm tones of Madikwe Safari Lodge. Featuring just 20 suites in three intimate camps; Lelapa Lodge (12 suites), Kopano Lodge (4 suites) and Dithaba Lodge (4 suites). Kopano and Dithaba Lodges are ideal for exclusive-use family safaris or for private safari getaways.
With huge circular fireplaces at the heart of every suite and big glass doors to blur the boundary between inside and out, Madikwe embodies the warm, bold heart of this spectacularly rugged corner of Africa. Spacious wooden decks embrace inviting plunge pools (in all suites), and book-filled shelves in quiet corners entice and captivate.
An all year round safari destination where the variation in experience is temperature related rather than safari as Madikwe does not have any migratory species. The best bird-watching period is from October to April.
