South Luangwa National Park has been called one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The enormous South Luangwa National Park is so wild and remote and full of animals that it would be hard to exceed the safari experience found here.
There are approximately 400 bird species found here. The only missing animal is the rhino which has sadly been poached to extinction. The Thornicroft Giraffe is unique to the Luangwa valley and should be easily spotted here.
South Luangwa National Park is the ideal walking safari area and it is said that they were started here.
The dry season is from April to October when you will find impressive numbers of game at the watering holes. The dry winter months are from May to August. The rains come in around November till about March.
