The wedding ceremony will take place under a beautiful Palm & Bougainvillea canopy on the white, sandy beach. Following the ceremony, Canapés and Sparkling wine are served after you say I do… In the evening we have arranged for a private and intimate dinner featuring the islands finest produce fused with the spices and flavors of the Indian Ocean. A wedding cake follows your dinner.

After this you will retire to your room for your wedding night where we have arranged a surprise gift from the hotel and a sumptuous breakfast served in bed the following day.

Terms & Conditions
Our wedding ceremonies are usually held on the weekdays from Monday to Thursday. Our clients have the option of a Civil wedding Ceremony or an Anglican wedding ceremony. For the Civil Wedding Ceremony this may take place on the beach but in the event that Regional Commissioner is unable to come to the hotel then the clients must go to his office in Stone Town. We recommend the Anglican wedding since this is guaranteed to take place on the beach.

If you opt for a Catholic wedding then this must take place in the Church in Stone Town. In addition, we can also organize Renewal of Vows Package where you can choose to have a Minister perform the vow renewals or else the couple will have to exchange their own symbolic vows.

Our rules and regulations have been made in accordance with the legalities of a marriage in Zanzibar. Therefore, we recommend that the couple also confirm with the legal requirements of marrying outside their country of citizenship so that that the wedding is legal and recognized when they return home. This is because each country may have different requirements for those marrying outside their country of citizenship.

At The Palms, the wedding couple has the services of the wedding coordinator who will work with them to ensure that that all documentation and finer details of the special day are in order. Therefore, once the wedding is booked and confirmed we recommend that the guest communicates directly with the wedding co-coordinator at the hotel, as far as the requirements of documentation is concerned, all arrangements, as well as all correspondence and formalities. This will ensure that any confusion with regard to the requirements is kept to an absolute minimum, and that all detailed information is submitted directly by the guests to the hotel.
